A Ring with a View

Wedding season is upon us and we’ve been making some lovely custom wedding rings at Jewel Beetle.
One of our most popular designs is our Mountain Range Ring. We’ve made many variations of the Mountain ring featuring mountain scenes from the local Tasman ranges to as far away as the Teton ranges in North America.

This concept can be made with any mountain range if you can supply a crisp digital photo. The process involves some help with Photoshop to carefully extract a clean profile of the mountain vista from your image. This is then scaled down and transferred to the ring which is handmade to your ring size. The profile is then wrapped around the ring as a template for engraving.

Recently we made a two-tone mountain range ring with 18ct yellow gold mountains and 18ct white gold sky. With the help of computer-aided design, the two pieces were cast to create a perfect puzzle piece. The two different gold alloys were skillfully soldered together and engraved to highlight the mountain vista profile.
